About the Fund

Scandinavian Film Fund I is the first Nordic investment fund for structured, professional financing and distribution of market-oriented and state-subsidized feature films. The mission is to invest in and distribute more than 50 state-subsidized feature films in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland between 2020-2025. The expectation is to ensure an annual return rate of 13-15 percent.

The distribution of market-oriented feature films is a low risk and profitable business. Distributors have secure revenue streams through defined income across the value chain and the market is characterized by very few distributors that can be challenged with the right competencies and necessary capital.

Additional financing options provided by Scandinavian Film Fund I will also strengthen the Nordic film cluster - and deliver more successful Scandinavian films to the rest of the world.

Several prominent producers in Denmark, Norway and Sweden have already expressed serious interest in entering into an agreement with Scandinavian Distribution that officially opened on March 6th 2020. During March the first couple of LOIs has been signed with Nordic producers.

Investors can join until March 1st 2021, which is the fund’s final closing date unless full commitment is achieved before. With a EUR 6m first closing, we count on (taking the COVID-19 situation in to account) to finish the final closing during fall of 2020. The fund expects a total capital commitment of up to EUR15m.
